What to pack for your hike


  • Navigation:
    Map, compass, GPS/app with offline maps.
  • Clothing:
    Weather-appropriate layers, sturdy boots, hat, gloves, and extra socks.
  • Backpack:
    Durable bag with a rain cover.
  • Food & Water:
    Water (bottle/bladder, purifier), snacks, and meals for longer hikes.
  • First Aid & Safety:
    First aid kit, multitool, whistle, firestarter, and emergency shelter.
  • Lighting:
    Headlamp or flashlight with extra batteries.
  • Protection:
    Sunscreen, sunglasses, insect repellent, bear/pepper spray if needed.
  • Extras:
    Trekking poles, trash bag, power bank, and duct tape for quick fixes.
